What an MCB does
A miniature circuit breaker switches a circuit off by itself when too much current flows, whether from an overload or a short circuit. Unlike an old rewirable fuse, you reset it with a lever once the fault is cleared. Sizing is the electrician’s job
The right rating depends on the wire in the wall, the loads on that circuit and the supply. We deliberately do not give sizing rules here.
Never swap in a higher-rated MCB because one keeps tripping. A tripping breaker is reporting a fault or an overload; a bigger breaker can let the wire overheat instead. Have a licensed electrician find the cause and size the protection.
