Choosing a modular switch
Pick the switch type
Start with what the switch has to do. 1-way turns a light or fan on and off from one place. 2-way works in pairs, so a stair or corridor light can be switched from both ends. Bell push springs back when released, for a door bell. A DP switch breaks both wires and suits heavy fixed appliances.
