About the Nano Lamp Holder

Nano Lamp Holder is a lamp holder from the VIYONA Series range, manufactured at our Mumbai works. The holder carries the lamp and the mains connection, so it is the part that takes the heat and the weight for the life of the fitting.

Holders are not interchangeable

A lamp holder has to match the lamp base — a batten holder, a pendant and a ceiling rose are different fittings and are not swapped for one another. Check what the existing fitting uses before ordering a replacement, or take the old one to the dealer.

Choosing a lamp holder or ceiling rose

Which holder for which point

A lamp holder carries the bulb and makes the electrical contact; a ceiling rose is the fixed point that takes the supply and, often, the holder. The VIYONA Lamp Holder line covers skirt lamp holders / ceiling roses such as Deluxe, Decent, Sathi, Sumo and Square, the compact Nano holder, the Royal fancy holder and the pendant holder / adaptor for hanging lamps.

Fitting it safely

Switch off at the MCB, not just the wall switch, before changing a lamp holder. A wrongly wired switch can leave the holder live even when the switch is off.

  • Use a line tester to confirm the point is dead.
  • Tighten both terminals firmly; a loose terminal causes heat and blackening.
  • Keep the cord grip engaged on pendant holders so the wires do not carry the lamp’s weight.

Will the Nano Lamp Holder fit my existing fitting?
