What we make: LED panels from 8W to 22W
We are an LED panel light manufacturer in Mumbai, and our VIYONA range covers the recessed panels that sit flush in a false ceiling, from 8W to 22W. There are five families: the Ultra Prime panel, the slim panel, the aluminium casting slim panel, the super slim panel, and three-mode 3 in 1 versions of the aluminium casting and super slim panels. We also make the replacement drivers that power them.
Printed MRPs run from ₹290 for the 9W aluminium casting slim panel to ₹600 for the 22W sizes. This page is for buyers choosing between the families, contractors pricing a fit-out, and anyone replacing a failed driver. Sizes and how many panels a room needs are covered on our panel size guide; here we stay with the range, the build, the driver and the standard printed beside each family.
For panels that fix to a bare slab with no false ceiling, see our surface panel range, linked below.
The panel families and their MRPs
The clearest way to compare the families is at one wattage. At 15W, the printed MRPs are:
15W panel MRP by family
Printed MRPs from our current catalogue. Bars to scale. Super slim panels pack 20 per box; the others 10.
Three families share ₹400 at 15W: Ultra Prime, slim and aluminium casting slim. The super slim costs a little more, and the 3 in 1 versions more again for their three modes. Ultra Prime, slim and super slim come in round and square.

How a recessed panel and its driver fit
A recessed panel sits in a round or square hole cut in the false ceiling board. Spring clips on its back grip the board, so the lit face finishes flush with the ceiling. The panel’s LEDs run on low-voltage DC, so a separate driver sits above the board, between the 230 V supply and the panel.
Recessed panel and driver in a false ceiling
Drawn by us, not to scale. The driver must not rest on the back of the panel; lay it on the board beside the cut-out.
That arrangement is why a panel is easy to service: if it goes dark, the driver is the usual suspect, and it can be changed from below by easing the panel out of its hole. Our panel light vs downlight guide compares panels with the smaller downlights.
Ultra Prime, slim, aluminium casting, super slim, 3 in 1.
Ultra Prime, slim and super slim come in both shapes.
1041 and 1042 replace a failed driver: ₹180 and ₹200.
Super slim 20 per box; others 10.
Which family to choose
- Ultra Prime: 10W, 15W and 22W, round and square. The general-purpose recessed panel for homes and offices.
- Slim panel: a 15W slim model at the same ₹400.
- Aluminium casting slim: 9W, 15W and 22W with a cast aluminium body. Aluminium carries heat away from the LEDs well, which suits ceilings where the void above is warm.
- Super slim: 8W, 12W, 15W and 22W, the thinnest body, for false ceilings with little depth above the board. Packed 20 per box.
- 3 in 1: a three-mode panel; the modes and how to change them are printed on the carton. In the aluminium casting family at 9W, 15W and 22W, and in the super slim family at 15W.
Each of these has a detailed page: our super slim panel guide, the 3 in 1 panel guide and the round vs square panel guide.
Watts by room, in brief
Panel size by room is covered in depth in our LED panel light size guide, so only the outline here:
- 8W to 12W: passages, bathrooms, wardrobes and small rooms, or as several small panels in a pattern.
- 15W: the common size for a bedroom or a kitchen, often two or more per room.
- 22W: living rooms, halls, offices and shops, or wherever fewer, larger panels are wanted.
Our catalogue lists panels by watts and MRP, not lumens; check the lumens on the carton and use our how many lights in a room guide to count them. At 6 hours a day, a 15W panel uses 2.7 units a month and a 22W panel 3.96 units.
Do not mix round and square, or two colours, in one ceiling. Choose one shape and one colour per room so the ceiling reads as one design.
Replacement drivers: 1041 and 1042
We make two panel drivers, matched by wattage band:
- 1041: 9W to 15W, ₹180
- 1042: 18W to 22W, ₹200
The 8W super slim panel (1031) falls outside both printed bands; ask us for its driver.
The 1041 label shown in our catalogue reads: input 90 to 240 V AC, 50 Hz, efficiency over 85%, power factor over 0.95, output 40 to 75 V DC at 180 mA; beside the driver list the catalogue prints IS 15885 (Part 2/Sec 13) and registration R-71026310. The wide input range is meant to keep the panel steady through the voltage dips common on Indian supplies.
The same label carries a warning: output not mains isolated. Treat the wires between the driver and the panel as live whenever the supply is on. Our LED driver guide explains why drivers fail and how to choose one.
Switch off the MCB before easing a panel out of the ceiling. The driver’s output side is not isolated from the mains and can give a shock.
The standard printed beside our panels
Beside the Ultra Prime and slim panels and the aluminium casting slim panels, our catalogue prints the standard IS 10322 (Part 5/Sec 2): 2012, the Indian standard for recessed luminaires, with registration R-71026476 and the note that they use BIS-approved control gear. The same standard and registration are printed beside our LED downlights.
A buyer can check a registration number on the BIS website. Our IS codes guide lists the standards for every product we make. When buying any LED panel, check that the registration number is printed on the carton itself, not only in a catalogue.
Our catalogue prints this standard beside the Ultra Prime, slim and aluminium casting families. For the super slim family, ask us for its marking before quoting it in a tender.
Changing a failed panel driver, step by step
When a panel that worked for years goes dark, or starts flickering, the driver is the first thing to check, and a ₹180 or ₹200 driver is far cheaper than a new panel:
- Switch off the MCB for the lighting circuit, not just the wall switch.
- Ease the panel down out of the ceiling; the spring clips fold as it comes out.
- Disconnect the panel from the driver, usually at a plug-in connector on the short lead.
- Read the panel’s watts on its label and pick 1041 for 9–15W or 1042 for 18–22W; for the 8W super slim, ask us.
- Connect the supply phase and neutral to the new driver’s input, and the panel to its output.
- Lay the driver on the ceiling board beside the hole, push the panel back, and switch on.
If the new driver does not bring the panel back, the LEDs on the panel itself have failed and the panel needs replacing. Our LED driver guide covers the usual reasons drivers fail, from heat to voltage spikes.
Panels in offices, clinics and shops
Commercial false ceilings use panels in larger numbers and for longer hours than homes, which changes the sums. A small office with twenty 22W panels on 10 hours a day uses about 132 units a month on lighting, so it is worth choosing the lowest wattage that gives the light needed rather than fitting 22W everywhere by default.
Two practical choices matter more in offices than in homes. Keep one family and one colour across the whole floor, so a failed panel can be replaced with an identical one years later; and buy a few spare drivers of the right band with the first order. For shop interiors, our LED lights for shop guide covers counters, shelves and display lighting alongside the ceiling.
Cut-out, fixing and mistakes to avoid
- Cut-out size: cut the hole to the size printed on the panel’s carton or template, not by eye; a hole too big leaves a gap at the rim.
- Driver on the panel: resting the driver on the panel’s back traps heat; lay it on the board beside the hole.
- Wrong driver band: a 22W panel on a 9–15W driver runs dim or fails; match 1041 or 1042 to the panel.
- Panels on a dimmer: ordinary panels are not dimmable; see dimmer switch for LED lights.
- Flicker or a faint glow: see why LED lights flicker.
Plan the panel positions with the false ceiling contractor before the boards go up, so the grid members do not land where a panel should be.
For dealers and contractors: boxes and project figures
Ultra Prime, slim and aluminium casting panels pack 10 per box; super slim panels 20 per box; drivers 10 per box. We sell in full boxes. Some box values at MRP:
- Ultra Prime 15W (1022): ₹4,000 for 10
- Super slim 12W (1032): ₹7,400 for 20
- Super slim 22W (1034): ₹12,000 for 20
- Driver 1041: ₹1,800 for 10
A 2BHK with a false ceiling might take twelve to twenty panels, so contractors usually price by the box. Every LED code is in our LED light price list; the product pages are Ultra Prime and slim panels and aluminium casting slim panels. For ceilings without a false ceiling, see our surface panel lights.
